NORRISTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2023) – Gaudenzia Inc. President and CEO Dr. Dale Klatzker, who transformed the region’s largest non-profit provider of treatment for individuals with substance use disorder, was honored as a member of the 2023 Philadelphia Titan 100 group of local business leaders.

Klatzker, an industry veteran and national leader in addiction and behavioral health, was named CEO of Gaudenzia in 2019, a year before the COVID-19 pandemic upended the operations of treatment providers and led to a historic surge in addiction and record numbers of overdoses.

Under Klatzker’s leadership, Gaudenzia now offers a full continuum of evidenced-based care, including medication-assisted treatment and other services for people with substance use and co-occurring disorders. During the year ended June 30, the number of people admitted to Gaudenzia programs rose 12% to 15,045 from 13,387 the previous fiscal year.

Gaudenzia serves Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C. with over 50 locations and 120 programs.

“Under Dale’s leadership, Gaudenzia has transitioned to better meet the ever-evolving needs of individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder with comprehensive, whole-person care,” said Maureen Brennan-Miller, chairperson of the Gaudenzia Board of Directors. “Dale is a visionary, a servant leader whose passion commitment to improving and expanding substance use treatment has impacted tens of thousands of lives for the better and congratulate Dale on this extraordinary recognition.”

In the past 15 months, Klatzker has spearheaded initiatives that include:

  • The opening of the Claymont Center for Pregnant and Parenting Women in Delaware, which served 40 women and 22 children in its first year.
  • The opening of West Mill Place, a 30-unit, family-friendly affordable housing development in Philadelphia.
  • The introduction of harm reduction programs in Baltimore County, Maryland.
  • The launch of a Driving Recovery for PA Initiative that uses a bus to provide medication-assisted treatment to five counties in rural Pennsylvania.
  • The recently published 2023 Gaudenzia Frontline Report that provides a unique county-by-county breakdown of addiction statistics and trends in the areas Gaudenzia serves.

Klatzker was recognized among this year’s honorees at the annual Titan 100 awards celebration on Sept. 21, 2021, at The Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, Pa.

The Titan 100 program recognizes Philadelphia’s C-suite level executives and leaders who demonstrate exceptional leadership, vision, and passion.  Collectively the 2023 Philadelphia Titan 100 and their companies employ upwards of 93,000 people and generate more than $33 billion dollars in annual revenues. Titan CEO, the organization behind the award, offers similar programs in other states and cities around the nation.
