Gaudenzia Inc. is sad to share the news of the passing of former board member Eugene “Gene” Veneziale on July 17, 2021.
Gene was elected to the board in 1998, served as Vice Chairman from 2001 -2009, and retired in 2014. His service was marked by an intense, personal devotion to the mission of Gaudenzia, its staff and the people it serves.
“Gene was a true friend and a mentor. He played a key role in our growth and was a passionate believer in Gaudenzia,” said Phillip Jordan, Gaudenzia Inc. Board Chair. “He will be missed not only by those who knew him but also by those whose lives he touched. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.”
One of Gene’s passions was the welfare of young children and their mothers living in residence at Gaudenzia programs. For the children of Tioga Arms Apartments in Philadelphia, Gene would annually pay for group outings for the children to visit the Zoo, museums and other sites in the region. Donations to Gaudenzia in Gene’s name will be used to continue helping children in Gaudenzia programs visit cultural and entertainment sites.
